What is a Birth Doula?
Birth Doulas support all births and all experiences and feelings surrounding those births. I provide personal, one-on-one support to you throughout your pregnancy, labour and into your postpartum journey. I am a safe space to process worries, fears, excitement and unknowns. When you hire me to support your upcoming birth, you will get two in-person prenatal meetings, plus text & call support from time of booking until up to two weeks postpartum. I will be on call from thirty-seven weeks onward (earlier for multiples). This means I will be there in person within two hours of a phone call, day or night. Once your baby is born, I will stay until you are all settled in bed, recovering and resting. We will also have one postpartum visit within two weeks of the birth where we can go over any questions you may have as a new parent. I will go over feeding support as well as be a safe space to process your birth story.
Value Of Postpartum Support
Postpartum doulas provide support in the first weeks and months after bringing a baby home. I offer support in all feeding, whether that is breastfeeding, bottle feeding, or a combination of both. I’ve got tried-and-true tricks on how to get few hours of sleep with a newborn. You’ll get help with the never-ending cycle of laundry and dishes that seem to appear and multiply out of nowhere. Whatever you need, my goal is to help and allow you and your family time to rest and heal from the arrival of your little one.
